Transforming diesel generators into hybrid photovoltaic energy systems in off grid systems

In the markets, when there is no photovoltaic power, almost all rely on diesel engines for power generation, with several diesel engines rotating to generate electricity. The renovation of a large diesel engine, such as the use of three 600kW diesel engines on a certain island by a certain doctor, with alternating power generation. The customer saw other islands undergoing photovoltaic renovation, which can save costs. The customer also wants to carry out the renovation. Based on the daily electricity consumption of the customer, we have designed a 400kW photovoltaic and 200kW/400kWH energy storage device for 2-hour backup at night. During the day, most of the island's electricity consumption is supported by photovoltaics, which are used immediately. The unused electricity is stored in the energy storage system. When the light is weak, the energy storage is prioritized for release to the load for use. At night, when the energy storage cannot meet the electricity demand, the oil engine starts. Due to the high voltage and current during the oil engine start, the energy storage PCS needs to quickly respond to the sudden changes in the power grid during the oil engine start, quickly correct the quality of the power grid, and ensure that the load is not affected. The entire system is a typical hybrid system, where photovoltaic power generation saves costs during the day and relies on energy storage and oil engine power generation to ensure power supply at night.
